The Last Remnant

Yaya..These days have been 'sial-ing' with this game =D i'm a big fans of Square-Enix. Since ff7 (1997 by SquareSoft), i hardly miss any of their productions =D Square-Enix's trend is always with high-end CG, interesting storyline and creative battle system =D. The Last Remnant is about a guy named Rush, searching for his sister who've been captured by unknown enemy. And slowly he revealed the secret of Remnant and himself...bla bla bla...
The battle system is quite special compare to the ordinary RPG games, instead of commanding few people in the game, you're commanding few groups in the game (up to 25 persons at one time). You are controlling few group of unions, with warfare strategies as well as morale determination to win the game =D interesting huh =D

Where is Gender Bias??!!

Gender roles, work and family seem to be getting more and more enmeshed as the time passes. A recent study involving 3,500 workers was released today.

It revealed that it is for the first time "that younger men and women feel the same about job advancement and the first time that there is no statistically significant difference between men and women in their views of appropriate gender roles," said lead author Ellen Galinsky, president and co-founder of Families and Work Institute.

The study revealed that the share contributed by women in the income of dual-income couples had increased to 44% in 2008. On the other hand the men had started to spend more time with the children and had begun to feel increased pressure of balancing work and family.

About 60% of modern day men and women disagree with conservative thought process according to which men should earn the money and women should take care of the children.

In 1992, 80 percent of men and 72 percent of women below age 29 sought jobs with greater responsibility. However, according to the study, today the figure stands at 67 percent of men and 66 percent of women.

China Bans Youtube !!

Chinese Internet users have recently been completely unable to access YouTube, the popular video service operated by US search firm, Google. The service had apparently been blocked by Chinese authorities.

YouTube has of course previously been censored, but in this case the length of the block is exceptional. The blockage coincides with the posting of a video on YouTube allegedly showing police beating a Tibetan demonstrator to death. Chinese authorities were quick to label the video as being fake.

When asked about the YouTube controversy, a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry told reporters “Many people have a false impression that the Chinese government fears the Internet. In fact it is just the opposite.”

“China’s Internet is open enough, but also needs to be regulated by law in order to prevent the spread of harmful information, and for national security” he went on. He then boasted of China’s 300 million Internet users and 100 million blogs; he denied knowledge of YouTube being blocked.

The Chinese have typically kept a tight rein on the Internet and have frequently blocked access to websites the government finds objectionable. Google and YouTube have been previously blocked in China for brief periods, mostly as a response to specific videos that had content critical of the government. Simply blocking individual pages in this case apparently did not send a message the government finds appropriate.

Earlier this year, China also began a crackdown on a number of sites on the Internet, resulting in the closure of hundreds of sites, including a popular blogging site and several sites popular with Tibetans.

With the 20th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square protests coming later this year, analysts believe that China is making a preemptive strike to stifle any dissent before it can occur.

There is no word on when YouTube will become accessible again in China.

Human Hair Clothing

As the global recession continues to wreak havoc with national economies, an enterprising Romanian woman has offered up a unique solution for her country’s economic woes.

Ionia Cioanca (71) has been creating hand-made clothes and accessories from human hair since the age of 16. Now well accomplished in the creation of human hair products, Cioanca hopes that her techniques can help revitalize the local economy.

Using techniques for processing wool, Cioanca carefully harvests her own hair to make blouses, coats, hats, gloves and even handbags. The grandmother turned would-be entrepreneur believes that her profession is a sacred one citing the example of Mary Magdalene wiping the feet of Jesus with her hair.

What do you think? i feel that it's kinda..creepy O_O

Too Fat To Work

A family which is so obese that they cannot work has convinced the government to pay them the equivalent of a substantial salary in benefits; not satisfied, they demand even more, saying “We deserve more”, and claiming that “All that healthy food is too expensive.”

The Chawner family claims £22,500 ($33,000, or $45,000 prior to the UK’s recent economic collapse) annually in benefits, having lived off state handouts without working for 11 years.

Still, even this is not enough and they demand more:
“What we get barely covers the bills and puts food on the table. It’s not our fault we can’t work. We deserve more.”

From left to right, daughter Emma (19) weighs 107kg, mother Audrey (57) and father Philip (53) each weigh 157kg, and eldest daughter Samantha (21) weighs in at 114kg. In total, the family comes in at some 525kg.

The gargantuan clan claim economic hardship forces them to eat vast quantities of unhealthy food, whilst advancing the contradictory claim that they are suffering a genetic condition:

“All that healthy food, like fruit and veg, is too expensive. We’re fat because it’s in our genes. Our whole family is overweight.”

Their diet, coming to 3,000 calories a day each, much more than the usual recommended maximums, leaves little doubt as to how they attained their exaggerated girth:

“We have cereal for breakfast, bacon butties for lunch and microwave pies with mashed potato or chips for dinner.”

Their benefits come in the form of “Jobseeker’s Allowance” (unemployment benefit), income support and “incapacity benefit”, as well as a disability allowance for Mrs Chawner’s asthma and epilepsy, a result of her weight. Additional money for conditions such as heart disease and diabetes top off the largesse.

Emma excuses herself with the claim that she is too busy training to be a hairdresser to exercise, and then pleas ignorance:

“I’m a student and don’t have time to exercise; we all want to lose weight to stop the abuse we get in the street, but we don’t know how.”

ARGHHHH...WHAT IS MY PURPOSE FOR UNDERGOING HECTIC WORKOUT + EXERCISE FOR ALMOST EVERYDAY?!!!

Went lunch with the girls during last Sunday at garden cafe, one utama, the new hybrid shop (combination of boutique stores and restaurant). Hmm..the food is just ok (more to fusion cuisine), it came across into my mind when i observed the ambient, decoration from the shop, it looks similar as fullhouse, NZX, Damansara Ara, it looks like the upgraded version of fullhouse XD, with more vines and more greeny =D Oh ya, the service, i think it's much better than the fullhouse.

Housewife Hacker Busted for Selling Friend’s MMORPG Gear

I came to read about this news in the morning, it says that a housewife (from Japan) has been prosecuted for accessing her friend’s MMORPG account and stripping her character of items for sale online.

According to police, the game operates a system “where players can enjoy themselves equipping hats and clothing”, and of course there are rare items ( LOL, i believe that most of the MMORPG does that).

Seeing that her friend had plenty of nice gear, the housewife accessed her account on six occasions to strip the character of items, which she then took and sold online. She apparently managed a total of 45 items, selling them all for a total of some ¥50,000 ( approximately rm 1.8k). She has been charged with unauthorised access to a computer system. She admits to the heinous act, explaining “I wanted some money I could freely use myself.” Cyber Law is certainly awesome =D
