Housewife Hacker Busted for Selling Friend’s MMORPG Gear

I came to read about this news in the morning, it says that a housewife (from Japan) has been prosecuted for accessing her friend’s MMORPG account and stripping her character of items for sale online.

According to police, the game operates a system “where players can enjoy themselves equipping hats and clothing”, and of course there are rare items ( LOL, i believe that most of the MMORPG does that).

Seeing that her friend had plenty of nice gear, the housewife accessed her account on six occasions to strip the character of items, which she then took and sold online. She apparently managed a total of 45 items, selling them all for a total of some ¥50,000 ( approximately rm 1.8k). She has been charged with unauthorised access to a computer system. She admits to the heinous act, explaining “I wanted some money I could freely use myself.” Cyber Law is certainly awesome =D
